Who are the contestants on the Glee Project, and which characters are they competing for?

Who are the contestents on the show, 'glee project' and which
characters are getting replaced. And what exactly is the 'Glee
Project' I know people are competing to see who gets to replace some
of the old actors(right?) but why are some of the old ones leaving?
